The Trans-Tasman Rowing Regatta is an annual 3 stage Rowing test series held between the NZ and Australian University Rowing teams. The regatta is alternated between NZ and Australia on a yearly basis. In Australia, the NZ crews raced on the Sydney Olympic course in Penrith.
NZU Rowing selects a Men’s and Women’s Heavyweight 8, a Men’s Lightweight 4 and a Women’s Lightweight quad to race in the series. These crews are selected at the NZ University Games each year.
The 2009 Uni Rowing Championships in Twizel were used as the selection trials for the New Zealand Universities Trans Tasman team to compete against Australia. This years event will be held in the first week of July in Queenstown and Dunedin.
