Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to compete at a 2006 World University Championship, competitors must meet the eligibility requirements laid down by FISU, the International University Sports Federation. USNZ interpretes these regulations for New Zealand teams accordingly:
- You must be a New Zealand citizen and hold a current, full NZ passport;
- You must be at least 17 and less than 28 years of age as at 1st January 2006;
- You must be studying ‘towards a full time course’ (under-graduate or post-graduate); OR
- You must have finished your course (successfully) and graduated less than 12 months before the start of the Championship;
- If you are studying in New Zealand, you must be attending a NZ University as recognised by the Ministry of Education - the University does not need to be a member of USNZ but an additional administration fee will be levied on competitors from non-USNZ institutions; OR
- If you are studying overseas, you must be attending a University or institute with University status as recognised by the relevant academic authority of that country, i.e. the equivalent of the Ministry of Education.
