Athletics - Women’s
3000m Steeplechase FINAL
Fiona Crombie (Providence College, USA) has placed 8th in the FINAL of the Women’s 3000m Steeplechase in a time of 10:48.42. The Gold medal was won by Hungry (9:40.37) , Australia the Silver (9:47.54) and Turkey the Bronze (9:50.32).

3000m Steeplechase FINAL
Stuart Kerr (AUT) has placed 12th in the Men’s 3000m Steeplechase. Kerr had a time of 9:17.10. The Gold medal was won by Turkey (8:30.16), Moldova the Silver (8:30.66) and South Africa the Bronze in 8:31.53.

Andrew Moore (University of Otago) placed 6th in his heat of the Men’s 200m. Moore’s time was not enough to qualify for the Semi Finals, and gives him a ranking of 23rd overall (time 21.53).

Melissa Ingram (Auckland) placed 8th in the A FINAL of the 200m Backstroke. Ingram swam a time of 2:16.77. The gold medal was won by Japan, Japan also taking the Silver and Germany the Bronze.

Thomas Macdonald (Canterbury) placed 5th in the B FINAL of the Men’s 1500m Freestyle. Macdonalds time of 16:23.44 gives him an overall ranking of 13th. The USA won the Gold (15:23.74), Germany the Silver (15:26.20) and Ukraine the Bronze (15:26.70).

4×100m Medley Relay - HEATS
Cameron Gibson (Auckland), Glenn Snyders (AUT), Moss Burmester (Massey Albany) and Matthew Thomas (Massey PN) placed 3rd in their heat of the 4×100m Medley Relay. The team has the 10th fastest overall time of 3:46.74 after the Preliminaries.

50m Freestyle HEATS
Matthew Thomas (Massey PN) swam a time of 23.58sec in the Preliminaries of the 50m Freestyle. Thomas’s time was the 27th fastest overall.

Athletics -Women’s
Long Jump FINAL
Sarah Cowley (AUT) has placed 12th overall in the FINAL of the women’s long jump. Cowley jumped 5.5 in the Finals, after setting a personal best of 6.14m in the qualifying rounds. The Gold medal being won by Russia, Portugal the Silver and Russia taking the Bronze.

1500m Semi Finals
Rebecca Forlong (Gordon TAFE, Australia) has qualified for the final of the women’s 1500m after placing 4th in her Semi Final in a time of 4:20.12. Forlong has the 8th fastest time heading into the Final.

Charlotte Osborne has placed 21st overall in the women’s 400m. Osborne placed 8th in her semi final in a time of 57.48.

Charlotte Osborne (The University of Waikato) has missed qualifying for the second round of the women’s 400m after she placed 5th in her heat. Osbornes ran a time of 57.43, which was the 22nd fastest overall.

Men’s 400m
Tim Hawkes (Victoria) has qualified for the second round of the men’s 400m after placing 4th in his heat and setting a personal best time of 47.19s. Hawkes goes into the second round after achieving the 10th fastest overall time in the competition.

Cory Innes (University of Otago) has also qualified for the second round of the men’s 400m, after placing 4th in his heat in a time 47.64. Innes had the 18th fastest time overall after round 1.
