The Shield

The Shield is awarded to the Games Overall University Champion and was first awarded in 1923. The Shield is steeped in history and tells the tale of the sporting prowess of the Universities of New Zealand and their ongoing mission to be the best. Otago University have showcased their sporting tradition winning the Games Shield an impressive 35 times. The Shield is the ulitimate goal for the participants coming to Rotorua in April 2008, who will walk away with their names etched into this piece of history?
