2009 World University Games

University Sport New Zealand (USNZ) is seeking a Chef de Mission to lead the New Zealand delegation to the 25th World University Games to be held in Belgrade, Serbia in July 2009.

The World University Games (WUGs) are part of high performance pathway for many athletes who are either moving from age group events or starting to show significant promise in their chosen sport.  The WUGs also act as a significant learning / training opportunity for both athletes and officials in a high performance, global, multi-sport event which places both athletes and officials at an advantage for the Olympic and Commonwealth Games.

USNZ wishes to appoint a CdM who will lead the NZ delegation and actively oversee the planning process in the lead up to and during the 2009 WUGs. The CdM will need to utilise his/her flair, commitment, enthusiasm to help shape the team. (S)he will be an excellent communicator, have proven management skills and proven knowledge and experience with high performance sport.

The CdM is an honorary position and reports to the USNZ Executive Director. The honorarium for the position is $10,000.
