University Sport New Zealand is deeply saddened at the recent passing of Mike Forrestal.
Outside of his work with the NZ Police, Mike worked for many years as a volunteer for University Sport New Zealand, devoting endless hours and energy to help run the annual Uni Snow Games event as well as leading the New Zealand team as Chef de Mission at several World University Winter Games.
Mike passed away on Saturday 3rd April after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Mike will be hugely missed amongst the USNZ team, past and present, not only for his outstanding dedication to University Winter Sport in New Zealand, but also for his constant and unwavering friendship and support.
Our thoughts are with Mike’s family, particularly Michelle, Tom and Lucy.
A service for Mike is being held at Old St Paul’s, Wellington, on Thursday 8th April at 1pm.
