The Australs Debating Champs and the Bersatu Games take place this week in Wellington and Dunedin. The Australasian Inter-Varsity Debating Championships are the largest annual international sports event involving New Zealand Universities and the second largest debating champs in the world. The Bersatu Games are held between Malaysian students studying at NZ Universities every year. This year they will be hosted by the Otago Malaysian Students’ Association in Dunedin on 3-8 July. 240 participants are expected to compete in the Games which comprise 10 sports - basketball, badminton, volleyball, handball, touch rugby, netball, table tennis, futsal (indoor soccer), golf, and pool - for further information click on Bersatu Games 2006
