Congratulations to Alison

Congratulations from the staff and Board of University Sport New Zealand (USNZ) go to Alison Fitch who has been awarded a MNZM in the New Years Honours for her services to swimming.
Alison has had a long association with USNZ having attended three World University Games. Alison was a competitor in 1999 Majorca, Spain and in 2005 Izmir, Turkey and was in the Athlete Services team at the 2007 Bangkok, Thailand Games.
Alison was the team captain in 2005 leading the most successful New Zealand team ever (five medals) at a World University Games. Alison lead from the front gaining two silver medals with her performances as a member of the 4 x 100m and 4 x 200m relay teams.
USNZ awarded Alison three Blues awards (1998, 2002 and 2003).
