Two time Olympic swimmer Alison Fitch has been named the NZ delegation’s Team Captain for the upcoming World University Games in Izmir, Turkey, August 11-21.
Fitch is New Zealand’s top freestyle sprinter - 100m and 200m freestyle, and is a double Olympian competing at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, and the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. She has also represented New Zealand at two World Championships, in 1998 and 2003. Alison trains at the Millennium Institute in Auckland and is currently studying towards her Masters degree at Massey Albany.
