Mark Inglis, the first double amputee to climb Everest, will be the keynote speaker at the NZU Blues Ceremony. Inglis will deliver the inaugural Curtis Mclean Lecture during the 2006 NZ Universities Blues Awards Ceremony at Te Papa, Wellington, on Friday 14 July. It will be his first formal speaking engagement since scaling the world’s highest peak in May.
The Ceremony will also be addressed by Alison Fitch, Olympic swimmer, Commonwealth medalist and captain of the NZ team at the 2005 World University Games in Turkey.
Blues awards will be made to 52 recipients during the evening as well as the announcement of the prestigious NZU Sportsperson of the Year and NZU Maori Sportsperson of the Year Awards. Click on NZU Blues Recipients 2006 for a full list.
