NOW OPEN! 2010 Uni Games Event Bid Applications

Applications to host the 2010 Uni Games event is now open.

University Sport New Zealand seeks a Host City for the 2010 Uni Games from cities within the South Island. Bids are welcome from both University cities and those non-university cities who believe they can host an event of this size and significance.

Overview
The Uni Games are hosted by a City rather than a University. This distinction is important as it embraces the scale of the Uni Games, their economic impact and the need to engage several organisations including; city councils, local transport providers, accommodation providers, sports venues, regional sports trusts, regional sports organisations, competition managers and volunteers.

Iconic

The Uni Games is an iconic event within the New Zealand sporting calendar; an integral part of the University experience and the second largest annual multi-sports event staged in New Zealand (behind the New Zealand Masters Games). An excess of 1,500 participants from Universities, invited Polytechnics as well as some overseas Universities are expected to attend the Uni Games in 2010.

Dates

The event has been held annually since 1902 making the Uni Games one of the longest running events in New Zealand sport and in 2010 will take place over four days from Tuesday 13 April to Friday 16 April.
