USNZ is pleased to announce that Jim Ellis has become the first NZer to be appointed to a FISU commission. Ellis has been appointed to the International Control Commission (CIC) of FISU, the International University Sports Federation. He was Executive Director of USNZ from June 2004 - August 2007, is currently the CEO of Equestrian Sports NZ and has been actively involved with university sport for more than ten years. The appointment runs from 2007-2011.
USNZ is the New Zealand member of FISU that controls events such as the World University Games (also known as the Summer / Winter Universiades) and World University Championships. The CIC is responsible for ensuring all competitors and officials comply with entry and accreditation requirements at all FISU events.
