NZ Ultimate team 8th at AUG 07

The Victoria University of Wellington Flying Disc Club (VUWFDC) sent a team to this year’s Australian University Games (AUG) held in Surfer’s Paradise in late September 2007. The team comprised of a majority of VUW students, with the addition of 3 players from the International Pacific College (IPC) in Palmerston North, one Massey Palmerston North student, and 3 Massey Wellington students with a mixture of experienced and newer players, national standard players and previously social players.

Ultimate was held at Southport school, Queensland with 20 teams in the draw, competing in 2 pools to reach the quarter finals. Pool play from Monday to Thursday saw the the NZ team defeat all team in their pool except the 2 teams seeded in the top 4. The final result placed the NZ team 8th out of 20, while University of Queensland emerged as champions.
