The NZ University Showjumping Championship Series was established by the group setting up the Equestrian Development New Zealand Trust.     The new Series is a part of the group’s efforts to help identify and develop emerging equestrian talent through to elite level performances and is sanctioned by University Sport New Zealand and ESNZ.

While the inaugural New Zealand Universities Championship is a showjumping series in its first year, the Equestrian Development New Zealand group along with University Sport New Zealand hope to broaden the competition to include dressage and eventing in 2012-13.
