What is the Tertiary Challenge?
Tertiary Challenges are a sporting competition between the tertiary institutions within a region. They are social sporting events where participation and fun are the focus. The Challenges are one day multisport events where participants will pack in as much sport as possible.
Since 2006 the Tertiary Challenge concept has extended across the country with events in the three USNZ regions Northern (North of Taupo), Central (South of Taupo) and Southern (entire South Island)

When are the next Tertiary Challenges ?
University Sport NZ is proud to support the 2011 Northern Tertiary Challenge to be held on Friday 19th August
This year’s event is hosted and organised by Ray Maisla from USU Students Association at Unitec, www.usu.co.nz
The aim of the Northern Tertiary Challenge is a fun, social, Mixed one-day sporting event
All Tertiary institutions are welcome to participate, however only institutes north of Taupo will be in the running for the overall Northern Tertiary Challenge Shield.
Six sports are on offer with Indoor Sports (Basketball, Netball & Volleyball) being held at The Trusts Stadium, and Outdoor Sports (Football, Touch & Ultimate) being held at Te Atatu South Park.
