Women’s Football

New Zealand’s national football team is the Football Ferns which represented the country in the International Women’s Football League. The national team is governed by the New Zealand Football which operates the New Zealand Football Association (NZFA). The New Zealand national team was able to qualify for the 2007 FIFA Women’s Cup which is held in China in September 2007. This feat sent the whole team to their first World Cup in 16 years and the second since their debut in the international competition in 1975.
