About World University Championships

World University Championships (WUCs) are organised by FISU and take place every 2 years in ‘even’ years - 2008, 2010, 2012 etc.

WUCs are single sport events that are hosted by different nations throughout the course of the year. In 2012 there are 26 WUCs being staged and it is likely that New Zealand will be represented at some of these.

WUCs are elite level events with many being close in standard to either full or U23 World Championships.

Only USNZ can sanction teams and individuals to represent New Zealand at WUCs.
